Seeing the city from this window is like seeing it from a screen, as an augmented (or diminished) reality. This glass manufactured in Belgium, cut in China and placed in Vietnam is a filter separating two different realities. Like every big city in an emerging country, Saigon is a city of contrasts, from here you can clearly see them under the layer of clouds scattered on the horizon.
The air conditioning inside, the humid heat outside, the corporatie-air freshener and the smell of pepper, fish, fried pork, dust, gasoline inside the small streets that stretch horizontally versus this slender steel and crystal gladiolus.
